BUSTOS, Bulacan-- A retired police General Romeo Maganto who was familiar in 1990's has died in cardiac arrest last Sunday afternoon at the BMMG Hospital in Barangay Turo, Bocaue this province.

Maganto was described as a hero, he has started as a police patrolman in this town and became Western Police District Station commander in Manila.
During his stints, he filled the newspaper headlines almost everyday and became the "Darling of the Press".
He received the distinguished conduct medal, the second highest medal that can be conferred to a Military Police personnel.
In 1990, he was promoted a rank higher which made him the youngest police colonel in the history of the Integrated National Police.
It was recalled that among of the unforgettable experienced of Maganto was when he brought the convicted murderer and notorious fugitive Rolito Go to Vice President Joseph Estrada instead to his superior in the Philippine National Police and DILG.
In 1995, Maganto authored the color coding traffic scheme, being a traffic czar of the MMDA when he was appointed by President Fidel V. Ramos at that time.
His wake is in Barangay San Pedro here, and on Tuesday at around 4 pm, it will be transferred to St Peter Memorial Homes in Cubao.
