By Robert Requintina A police officer who won Mr. International 2014 was rushed to the hospital following a motorcycle accident in Manila last Friday. Police Officer 3 Neil Perez, a bomb explosives technician at the Aviation Security Group, suffered bruises and cuts in the body as a result of the accident. He is now confined at the Metropolitan Medical Center in Sta, Cruz, Manila. He did not break any bones, doctors said. PO3 Neil Perez
(Manila Bulletin) Jonas Gaffud, mentor of Perez under Empire Talent, said on Instagram that the pageant cop briefly lost his memory and has already undergone CT scan. Perez is okay now, the talent manager said. Eton Concepcion, a civilian employee assigned at the Community Relations Group of PNP and a close friend of Perez, said that three children saved Perez who laid unconscious along the road after the accident. "Buti pinara nung 3 bata/teenagers 'yung truck na sasagasa sa katawan niyang bulagta na sa kalsada. Kumaway-kaway raw sa truck driver 'yung tatlong bata kaya huminto yung truck," said Concepcion. "Hanggang sa dalhin sa bahay nila nung tatlo, sinakay sa tricycle. Black eye, madaming galos, lapnos at groggy. Nakakakilos pero hindi matandaan ang mga nangyari. May minor fracture sa pisngi at bugbog," Concepcion added. The family and friends of Perez lost track of the three children on their way to the hospital, he said. Concepcion said that Perez is thankful for his second life. "He's thankful parang second life na rin nya ito. Nakahiga lang sya, nakaka-smile pa at usap sa bisita, parang di nasasaktan but I know he feels the pain." Perez is the country's first Mister International titleholder during a pageant held in South Korea.
