The recipients of the 14 ambulances were the municipalities of Angono, Mambugan and San Isidro in Antipolo; Lobo and Mabini in Batangas; Binan and Pagsanjan in Laguna; barangays Muntindilaw, Beverly Hills, Mayamot in Angono, Rizal; barangay Dolores in Taytay, Rizal, and one from Antipolo City.
“These ambulances are intended to transport seriously ill or injured persons needing immediate medical care and treatment and not to be used other than its intended purpose. Moreover, fees should not be collected for their use or be refused to be used due to political reasons or any other reasons that defeat the purpose as to why they were purchased” said DOH-Calabarzon Regional Director Eduardo Janairo.
Janairo said each ambulance shall be manned by an "adequate number of qualified, trained, and competent staff to ensure efficient and effective delivery of quality ambulance services."
“A service ambulance is one of the crucial health services for the delivery of pre and post hospital care to a sick patient or to an injured patient resulting from an emergency or a disaster," said Janairo.
The DOH official also added that those individuals vaccinated with Dengvaxia vaccine "will be prioritized to use the land ambulances in case of an emergency, especially those residing in remote barangays."
