BIR starts use of social media

By Jun Ramirez The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has finally joined other government agencies in utilizing social media in its tax information platform.

(Manila Bulletin File Photo) In signing Revenue Memorandum Circular No. 40-2018, BIR Commissioner Caesar Dulay said institutionalizing the bureau's social media pages supplement the existing website in disseminating tax information. The BIR chief said the content focuses on daily tax reminder, monthly tax calendars, regulations and other issuances, tax campaign videos and job openings. Excluded are taxpayer's request for legal opinions and queries involving interpretation of tax laws and tax exemption rulings. All queries and clarifications shall be emailed to the customer assistance division (CAD) at contact [email protected] or by calling telephone numbers 9817345, 9817366, or 9813768. The BIR social media pages are visible at the bottom rightmost area of the BIR website (https://www.bir.gov.ph) and can be accessed through: https://facebook.com/birgovph; https://twitter.com/birgovph; https:hh//plus.google.com/+birgovph and https//youtube.com./+birgovph.
