Age doesn't matter if you have the desire and determination to study.
At the age of 30, AB Communication graduate Rey Stephen Ortiz has finished magna cum laude from STI College Global City.
"After working in BPO industry for almost 7 years, I decided to go back to school to finish my education. I am 26 that time," he said in an interview with Manila Bulletin.
Ortiz stated that AB Communication was not his first choice.
"Since I'm working in BPO industry, my first choice is to take up Business Management. But after seeing its curriculum, I asked the admission if they can offer me a course that 'had a few numbers' then they recommended AB Communication," he said.
He also took up Hotel and Restaurant Services for two years in a TESDA school at Balasan, Iloilo.
Ortiz shared that he was the eldest among his classmates.
"I didn't experience any discrimination from my classmates," he said.
The fresh graduate also learned that we need to collaborate with others in order to succeed.
"I came from a broken family but it didn't stop me from achieving my dreams that someday I can finish my education."
"Always trust the process," he stated.
"You need to believe in yourself. When in doubt, pray."
