Five drug peddlers
Five alleged drug peddlers were nabbed in two separate stings conducted by the members of the Northern Police District (NPD) on Wednesday.
First to fall at the hands of the NPD-Drug Enforcement Unit were Lance Belardo, 28, jobless, of Cainta Rizal and Benedict Natindem, 20, jobless, of Quezon City.
The team led by Sr. Inspector Jefferson Guillermo conducted a buy-bust operation against Belardo and Natindem along Imperial Street in Cubao, Quezon City around 10 a.m.
Natindem was arrested after he sold a sachet of marijuana leaves worth P300 to an undercover police officer.
Belardo, on the other hand, was also nabbed after Natindem bought a sachet of marijuana leaves worth P500 from him.
Around 6:20 p.m., the same team conducted another operation that led to the arrest of Jerome Agonia, 24, vendor, of Manila; Estella Alayon, 24, jobless, of Cavite; and Russel Tiong, 37, jobless, of Manila.
The three men, who were not included in the drug watch list, were nabbed for allegedly conspiring to sell a sachet of shabu worth P1,000 to a police poseur-buyer along Antonio Rivera Street in Manila.
Seized from them were two more sachets of shabu with an estimated value of P10,000 and a caliber .45 pistol with ammunition.
Appropriate charges will be filed against the five men who are now detained at the NPD detention cell. (Kate Javier)
Car broken into in Pandacan
Nearly P40,000 worth of gadgets and personal belongings were taken away from a businessman inside his car in a theft incident Wednesday night in Pandacan, Manila.
P/Supt. Ruben Ramos identified the victim as Reymundo Caraig, 33, of 1105 B2, Narciso St., Pandacan, Manila.
Initial investigation revealed that the victim parked his vehicle, a gray Toyota Fortuner with plate number PIU 764, along Pureza St. on May 23 at around 11:20 p.m.
Upon returning to his unattended vehicle by 11:50 p.m., Caraig discovered that the driver's seat window of his car was forcibly shattered while his belongings, including a Dell laptop worth P30,000, two flash drives worth P8,000 and a checkbook, were missing.
Caraig then sought the help of nearby police officers namely PO2 Willfredo Millare, PO1 John Centino and PO1 Peter Giron. The officers then assisted the victim to Barangay 626 to review the footage of a closed circuit television (CCTV) located near the area.
The footage then showed a man onboard a Mio motorcycle approaching Caraig's vehicle at around 11:32 p.m. The man then broke the window of the vehicle using unidentified tools and took away the victim's belongings. The suspect then fled the scene. (Hans Amancio)
10 drug pushers arrested
Ten alleged drug pushers including a high value target and an elderly woman were arrested in separate drug sting operations in Makati and Muntinlupa on Thursday.
Anti-narcotics operatives in Muntinlupa City arrested Rosalie Malicsi, 40, a level 2 high value target and resident of Kapitville, Brgy. Poblacion Muntinlupa City and Juan Carlos, 35, a resident of Cordillera St. Country Homes Brgy. Putatan Muntinlupa City.
According to the report submitted to Southern Police District Police Chief Supt. Tomas Apolinario, Station Drug Enforcement Unit from the Muntinlupa City Police and personnel from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) southern District conducted a drug sting operation at Marquez Compound in Brgy. Putatan, Muntinlupa City.
This resulted in the arrest of the two after they sold illegal drugs to a police poseur buyer. Authorities recovered four sachets of shabu and the P1000 buy bust money.
Suspects together with the recovered evidence, were brought to Muntinlupa CPS office for documentation and disposition.
In Makati, arrested were Danilo Alcantara, 49, John Carlo Trembevilla, 21, John Paul Barnachca 19, Edgar Monsod, 45, Nicanor Espiritu, 49, and Domingo Ayacocho Jr., 40.
Investigation showed that anti-narcotics operatives of the Makati City Police conducted a buy-bust operation along Orion St., Brgy. Rizal, Makati City.
Police confiscated one piece improvised glass burner, one piece improvised aluminum foil tooter, one piece foil strip containing traces of alleged shabu, one piece small open plastic sachet containing traces of alleged shabu, three pieces of rolled aluminum foil, and two pieces disposable lighter.
While conducting Oplan Galugad, police chanced upon Rosario Callejo, 72, sniffing shabu along Hilario St., Brgy. Palanan, Makati City.
Recovered from his possession was one small plastic sachet of suspected shabu and one piece of aluminum foil strip. (Dhel Nazario)
