Father Fernando Suarez
Father Fernando Suarez vividly remembers an incident before he was ordained in Canada in 2002.
“A Canadian woman was declared dead by doctors at the Ottawa Civic Hospital some eight hours before I arrived. With doctors present and ready to harvest her organs, I felt so guilty I was late so I asked the family if I can still pray over her. We were all surprised when she opened her eyes and lived,” he claimed. “The woman is now well and has resumed her normal life.”
That case put Fr. Suarez on radar. These days, he roams the world touching millions of lives and working his miracles on people.
Despite having detractors, Pope Francis advised Fr. Suarez to “continue his mission” back in 2014 when they co-celebrated Holy Mass at the Santa Marta chapel in the Vatican. This is the reason the healing priest put up more seminaries and healing centers in the Philippines. These include the one in Taal, another in Oslob Cebu which he named after Pope Francis, and still another in Mindoro.
He is currently building the biggest healing center in Panabo, Davao del Norte. It stands on a 12-hectare property that can sit 4,000 people and it has a retreat center good for a thousand pilgrims. The project is set to finish in two years.
Father Suarez holds a healing meeting at the OasisCenter last February At our healing concert last February, Father Suarez told the crowd, “ I am not a healer. We only have one healer and that is Jesus who is always present in a gathering of people like this because you all have faith in Him. When you all pray to him at the same time, when you all invoke the Holy Spirit, then the healing begins.” After our concert, my sister in Christ, Maria Lourdes Lorenzo who was suffering from cancerous lymph nodes behind her ear, made me touch her and said, “Look, my nodes are gone!” At another healing concert of Father Suarez at Folk Arts Theater, I witnessed how two people sitting on wheelchairs stand up and started to walk. Many of those Father Suarez has healed support the ministry that he founded, the Mary Mother of the Poor charitable organization. Many of his supporters were the financially sick, the emotionally traumatized or those who were diagnosed to die of cancer. But they were given another lease in life when Father Suarez prayed to Jesus to grant His mercy on those people. On May 20, Father Suarez will celebrate his 16th anniversary with a healing concert at the Oasis of Love Center, Roofdeck of the the Emar Suites 409 Shaw Blvd. Since this is the Sunday of the Pentecost, Holy Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Alex Balatbat at 10 a.m. before the concert. Singers and artists have also pledged to perform like Gino Padilla and myself included. For tickets may call the Oasis office at 02-5314951 or 0998.569.0850.
