MBT: Taguig halts MMDA five

By Rafael Bandayrel The Taguig Generals handed the MMDA Jr. Blackwolves its first defeat, 76-51, in the 2018 16-and-under Metro Basketball Tournament of the Metro Manila Sports Fest, Thursday at the San Juan Gym. The Generals made their presence down low as they outscored the Blackwolves 50-20 inside the paint. Guards Jesseyray Gian Carlo Arciaga and Diether Torres III put on an offensive display as they scored 17 and 16 points, respectively. James Noah Monserata of MMDA, meanwhile, carried the load for his team, listing 17 points and 12 rebounds. With the dominant win, Taguig improves their record to two wins and two losses. The Blackwolves, on the other hand, received their first taste of defeat as they slide to 3-1. Both teams will return to action on Saturday at th Hagonoy Gym, in Taguig. The Generals will take on the Las Pinas Home Defenders while MMDA will look to bounce back against the Makati Skyscrapers.
