James Yap's birthday greetings to Bimby, causes a stir

By MB Online After his girlfriend Michela Cazzola, it’s now PBA player James Yap’s turn to be the talk of town due to his birthday greeting for his son Bimby with Kris Aquino.

(Manila Bulletin) “Happy birthday Bimb! I miss you and think about you everyday. Alam ko na ang tagal na natin di nakapagspend ng time together, at di nagkikita, but i want you to know that I’m always here for you. I will always be your papa. I hope you enjoy your birthday!” Yap said on his Instagram page. Last April 19, Bimby celebrated his 11th birthday and his father took the opportunity to send his greetings through social media. For some netizens, the gesture did not sit well as Yap’s girlfriend Cazzola had recently made a comment in reaction to a netizen’s comment about the Rain or Shine guard’s responsibility as Bimby’s father. Yap though finds nothing wrong with what he did although his former wife thought that his greetings lacked sincerity. Yap and Aquino have always locked horns regarding the custody and parenting responsibilities to their child. Although for a time, the rift between the two seemed to have taken a back seat insofar as public awareness is concerned, a recent issue that pitted Korina Sanchez and Aquino over the former’s TV interview showing how seemingly “blissful” Yap and Cazzola’s marriage is nowadays seemed to have reopened wounds between the estranged couple.
