By Dhel Nazario NAIA is ready for summer. This was the assurance given by Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) General Manager Ed Monreal following the termination of the of the northeast monsoon signaling the start of the dry season according to PAGASA.

The MIAA General Manager called on local airline carriers plying domestic routes to avoid creating long lines in the check-in counters due to shortage of people or delayed opening of the counters. In NAIA Terminal 3, the replacement of defective cooling coils and installed stand-alone airconditioning units has recently been completed by MIAA. The airport chief said that with this development, "passengers can be assured of a convenient and relaxing atmosphere while waiting for their flights this summer season.” AGM Security has been tasked by Monreal to closely monitor taxi operations in the terminals. "We want a happy ending for all summer getaways. One sorry experience with an abusive taxi driver can spoil everything," Monreal stated. He thanked the LTFRB and the I- ACT for partnering with MIAA to ensure a safe and orderly transport operations in NAIA. "We hope this partnership can be sustained for the benefit of the riding public," said Monreal. Four terminal managers were also ordered by the airport chief to ensure that all vital facilities are working and that the upkeep of toilets always be on MIAA's top list. Comfort rooms in NAIA are equipped with diaper changing tables for babies and toddlers, hand dryers and bidets as well as toilet papers, paper towels, hand soaps and hand sanitizers. The AGM Security was tasked to implement increased foot and mobile patrol, K9 visibility, manage traffic flow in Terminal premises and adjacent road networks and also to intensify intelligence gathering.
