Though born Korean, Ryan Bang's love for the Philippines, where he has flourishing career, is undeniable.

In an interview, the TV host-actor revealed he has been turning down huge opportunities in Korea time and again, unless accepting these would jeopardize work here.
Ryan claimed he recently received a proposal to be on MBC’s “Video Star” in Korea. But he declined as he's busy promoting his first move under Star Cinema titled “DOTGA: Da One That Ghost Away.”
Recall that he was on “Infinite Challenge” as translator for Senator Manny Pacquiao who appeared as guest on the show. He was also part of “Battle Trip” where he took the Korean viewers to one of the Philippine’s top destinations, Boracay.
According to Ryan, he’s already comfortable in the Philippines being here for 13 years now. And staying in show business for almost a decade, he believes his success boils down to how he really loves work.
Ryan noted that just like courting girls, he doesn’t mind investing time and effort into his career. Recall that the singer-actor-host was first known by the public after he joined the reality show “Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Clash” of 2010, where he finished as a runner-up.
Ryan thanks ABS-CBN for giving him opportunities to prove himself as an actor. In the film “DOTGA: Da One That Ghost Away,” his leading lady is Kim Chiu, also a product of the reality show “Pinoy Big Brother.”
Ryan admitted he likes Kim but he respects the special relationship between the latter and singer-actor Xian Lim.
“Crush lang. Hanggang diyan lang,” he cleared.
Who does he want to be his next leading lady, we asked.
Looking ahead, Ryan is cast in another movie for release this year. Tentatively titled “Kusina Kings,” he said he will play the role of antagonist there. His co-stars are Zanjoe Marudo and Empoy Marquez.
“DOTGA: Da One That Ghost Away” opens in cinemas nationwide tomorrow.
