After the successful launch of The Smart Mommy App or MApp in 2016, LJ Reyes is ready to open more businesses. LJ Reyes In an interview, the actress revealed she’s planning to establish her own travel kit and hygiene line. Just like MApp that gives significant information and a whole lot of momma-loving support, the 30-year-old is developing new products to make the lives of parents and kids easier. Of course, LJ considers her son, Aki, as her biggest inspiration for all of these. She hopes to launch the new products soon. As many of her followers know, LJ loves travelling the world. She has been posting travel photos with her son and boyfriend Paolo Contis. They've visited different countries like USA, Japan and Hong Kong. Locally, they've been to El Nido, Palawan and Davao, among others. “Siyempre ’yung taping namin isang buong araw tapos ’pag may soap every other day so parang busy ’yung feeling. Kaya we owe it to ourselves na makapagbakasyon para makapag-refresh ka na rin. So pagbalik mo sa trabaho parang energized ka ulit,” she said. Speaking of her boyfriend, the actress was asked if she and Paolo are planning to settle down soon. “Hindi pa. ’Wag po muna nating madaliin. Natataranta po ako sa tanong niyo,” she answered in jest. But turning serious, she noted that as of now they’re enjoying each other's company and they prefer to focus more on their respective careers. However, does LJ’s decision to venture into businesses signal laying low in show business soon? “I don’t think I will ever be out from show business,” she said. “Siguro there will come a time na baka medyo may lie-low pero hindi entirely kasi nasa sistema ko na ata. I mean hahanapin ata ng katawan ko.” “But at my age gusto ko rin may iba na rin akong ginagawa not just this (showbiz). Tsaka sayang naman ’yung inaral ko kung hindi ko gagamitin ’di ba,” said the double degree holder of Economics and Management of Financial Institutions. New series LJ plays a biologist on GMA’s upcoming series “The Cure." Part of her preparations is familiarizing himself with medical terms. “Kasi mahilig naman ako sa Biology when I was in high school so medyo may background naman na ako ng konti. Tapos meron akong doctor na tita, isa kong cousin Biologist din so may background naman talaga,” she added. On the soap, her character is third wheel to the lead cast Tom Rodriguez and Jennylyn Mercado who play Mr. and Mrs. Salvador. According to LJ, her character has been in love with Gregory Salvador since they were college. “Na-inlove siya kay Greg kasi sobrang maalaga siya pero ang totoo friend lang ’yung tingin sa kanya,” she said. “Pero hindi niyo makikita na parang meron pa akong masamang interests towards na to meddle pa.” LJ with son Ethan Akio and boyfriend Paolo Contis (Instagram) On how different her new character is compared to her previous roles, LJ said this one is lighter. “Mas hindi mabigat when it comes to drama kasi for the past few projects that I did talagang drama lahat. So ngayon medyo breathe of fresh air siya sa akin kasi medyo lighter siya emotionally." No zombie story Although their latest offering is a drama-thriller, she cleared their show also has action vibe feels. So far, she already did a stunt scene. “Pero since apocalyptic naman, I’m sure lahat kami gagalaw, (mag-stunts)," she said. LJ clarifies “The Cure” is not a zombie series. “Just to make it clear na itong mga ‘infected,’ we call them infected, they are rabid dahil du’n sa virus na nakuha nila pero hindi sila patay. Alive sila pero they have the virus inside of them kaya sila nagiging rabid,” she elaborated. “Tapos ’yung virus makes them want to prey on healthy bodies kaya kakalat ’yung infection. So once you get the virus ganu’n ’yung mangyayari,” she added. But LJ thinks their show being compared to the likes of “Train To Busan” and “Deadma Walking” is something. “Kasi ibig sabihin kahit papaano nakaka-level up tayo to their production,” she said. LJ hopes to do an independent film this year.
