With the showing in nationwide theaters of BG Productions’ first mainstream movie “ Almost a Love Story" on April 11, it's expected that the well-known indie film company will concentrate on mainstream productions. But on the contrary, the producer Baby F. Go, dubbed the “Queen of Indie Movies,” revealed “this 2018, we will go full blast with our indie film projects which have been conceptualized in 2017.”

There’s Louie Ignacio’s entry to this year’s Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival, “School Service,” and Joel Lamangan’s “Angela Lumunsad” and “Maruming Hangin,” an environmental film.
Then there’s Mel Chionglo’s “Sixty in the City” which will star Charo Santos no less. Go hastened to add, “this will be a mainstream film, based on a Lualhati Bautista novel, which Charo Santos herself recommended to Director Chionglo.”
“Sixty in the City" is about women looking for "tunay na kabuluhan ng buhay. Isang makabuluhang story for mature audiences. We’re just waiting for Charo’s availability so we can start shooting.” It will be another mainstream film project, the second for BG Productions.
Mel said his home base is now BG Productions. “It’s nice to have a home base. After Regal, I found another home in Baby’s BG Productions.”
Louie Ignacio also has another interesting project for BG Productions which will star Nora Aunor. Titled “Sa Mundo Ng Mga Higante,” it is about a midget wrestler whose mother will be played by the superstar.
BG Productions’ “Almost a Love Story,” shot almost entirely in Italy, will have its premier night on April 10 at SM Megamall’s Cinema 7. The movie features the love team of Barbie Forteza and Derrick Monasterio, with Lotlot de Leon, Ana Capri and Matet de Leon playing key roles.
“Almost A Love Story” will also be shown in 32 cities in Italy, and the lead stars will also go to Italy for these special screenings, if their schedules permit them, said line producer Dennis Evangelista.
