Now that hip hop group Ex Battalion has crossed over to the major league, they intend to be more thoughtful, shall we say, careful with their lyrics.

Known to have some songs using explicit words, they intend to resort to double meaning instead of outright vulgarity.
"We want to set a good example to the kids," they said, adding, "Ganu'n pa rin kami. May flavor pa rin ng Ex B pero more careful kami sa (pagpili ng) words."
The group got noticed in a big way via “Hayaan Mo Sila” with official music video already notching 42 million views.
Even comedy actor—singer Michael V. created a hit parody of the song.
Titled "Gayahin Mo Sila by Class B Tayo," it has already garnered 2.8-million views on YouTube.
According to the rappers, they enjoyed the lyrics and the video of the music. Note that they even had a cameo in the last part of the music video.
Ex B was of the opinion that people should stop saying the parody is against them or it will "disrupt" the success of the original. They pointed out that Michael V did a version with their permission and, in fact, they even appeared on the music video of his version.
Tough journey
The hip hop group admitted nabbing success was not easy. Like any other artist, Ex Battalion also encountered different challenges.
"Dati po kasi walang naka-appreciate ng mga songs na ginagawa namin," one of the members recalled.
Among their struggles was competing against other hip hop groups. But good thing they were able to offer a different flavor as heard on their music.
"Hindi kami nag-stick sa i-isang taste ng music so nilagyan namin ng konting twist para mahuli namin 'yung kiliti ng masa at 'yun nga nahuli naman namin," they explained.
Though they receive warm feedback from their avid listeners, bashers are never lacking.
"Sila 'yung dahilan kaya kami nagpupursigi para ipakita sa kanila na mali 'yung sinasabi nila," they said.
Ex Battallion started fromscratch, chipping in money from their own pockets to be able to produce their own music videos.

They are grateful to have found a person who will help them reach their biggest dreams.Recall that just two weeks ago, Ex Battalion signed an exclusive two-year contract for management with Ai Ai delas Alas.
According to the Comedy Queen, it all started with her wanting to have a successful music song. Then she collaborated with the group until "kinarir ko na pagma-manage sa kanila, ang pagiging mommy girl sa kanila."
The comedy actress considers the members of the hip hop group as if they were her own children.
"Parang anak mo na may kanya-kanyang character na may male-late, may maaga, may hindi sumasagot, may sagot ng sagot, may makulit, may hindi nagsasalita. So lahat 'yan kailangan mong i-psychologize," she said. "So hindi mo pwede iwan sila. Ohana means family so no can gets left behind."
She would sometime weep for joy as "para akong nanay na 'Oh sikat na 'yung mga anak ko.'"
Ex Battalion divulged that despite them receiving various offers from people who wanted to handle their career, they firmly refused those until they found a home in Ai Ai.
"Kasi hindi naman siya nag-offer sa amin na i-manage kami. Simula po ng.nakilala namin siya, wala po siyang ibang ginawa kung hindi tulungan kami ng walang kahit anong kapalit," they said of the actress.
More blessings to come
Well, it looks like Ai Ai is doing well as their manager. The group was recently introduced as the newest RRJ brand ambassador for embodying the brand's slogan "Live your style."
"Thanks for trusting us, na naniwala sila na meron kaming potential," they simply said.
According to RRJ owner/brand director Patrick Sia, Ex Battalion will have its own line and it will be promoted through extensive marketing blitz.
Ai Ai shared the good news that there are more things set to roll out within the year for the group. Ex Batallion's next endorsement will be with another big company.
Aside from that, the phenomenal group is preparing for a major concert this year. They will also tour the US, likely September or October.
Their physical album will be out soon.
