A group of Russian traders have expressed keen interest in investing in Bataan’s tourism industry.
Sergey Mstislavskiy of the Aeroflot Russian Airlines, and his partners from Hong Kong and Malaysia, met recently with Bataan Governor Abet S. Garcia to explore the possibility of investing tourism projects in the province.
Lawyer Coeli Fiel, president of Econest, a sanitary land fill in Hermosa, Bataan, facilitated the meeting with the governor in which the Russian group recognized the great potential for tourism in the province.
Fiel said that the Russian traders have already visited tourism projects in Bataan, a highly-industrialized province in Central Luzon, and were impressed with its potential and accessibility to Metro Manila, Clark, and Subic.
Garcia welcomed the Russian investor, along with his group Daniel Ho of Taiwan and Ling ling Vun of Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia, and assured him of his full support once they invest in Bataan.
He also welcomed their invitation for him to visit St. Petersburg.
In his meeting with the foreign traders inside the 1Bataan Command Center in Orani town, Garcia presented the big strides in progress and development in this part of Central Luzon.
He cited Bataan’s two freeports – The Freeport Area of Bataan in Mariveles and SBMA – the Bataan Petron refinery, the Hermosa economic zone, and other industrial areas.
The governor also cited its accessibility to Metro Manila (one hour via ferryboat; two hours via land travel); Clark (25-minute drive); and Subic (10-minute drive) and revealed plans for an eight-lane Bataan superhighway.
