Henderson, 34, will be locking horns with the returning Roger Huerta at Bellator 196, Apr. 6, at Budapest Sports Arena in Budapest, Hungary.
Conor McGregor teammate James Gallagher was slated to battle Adam Borics in the main event of Bellator 196. Gallagher, however, was forced to withdraw due to an injury which caused the cancellation of the bout. Borics remained in the card, although Gallagher’s replacement has not yet been named.
The former UFC and WEC lightweight champion has not fought since his split decision loss to Patricky Freire last September. Henderson challenged for then-lightweight champion Michael Chandler’s title, which he also lost via split-decision.
Meanwhile, Huerta last fought under the Bellator banner back in 2010 when he lost to former UFC lightweight champ Eddie Alvarez via doctor’s stoppage at Bellator 33.
