It was really heart-breaking for Korean-pop fans following the news that hosts Jung Hyung Don (Doni) and Defconn (Coni) will be leaving the Korean variety show ‘Weekly Idol’ after seven years.

‘Weekly Idol’ is a show popular to fans since it was known to have segments where one can know more about the members of a certain K-pop group.
The iconic duo Doni and Coni made the show one-of-a-kind, with its unique segments bringing entertainment not only to the viewers but also to the show’s guests.
Meanwhile, PD Kim Jin, one of producers of the show ,tweeted her sentiments regarding the issue.
"It feels like it was only yesterday when we had the MC meeting but before we knew it, we're already yelling 'Weekly Idol' for the 7th year. Thank you, Doni and Coni, who've always trusted and cheered on us producers/writers. Thank you very much~"

This segment may seem easy, but it’s harder than you think as it involved playing the group’s songs in different order and cutting it in different timeframes, at the same time, the members of the group should be on their right and exact positions.
Every idol group who gets to pass all rounds without committing any mistake will be rewarded with food or anything that they please.
Double-speed Play Dance
It all started as a game when groups danced to their songs in double-speed, but as time goes by, more idols took up the challenge where no member should commit any mistake.
Girl group G-Friend were even crowned queens in this segment for always delivering performances with perfect synchronization at double speed.
Re-writing Idol Profile
This is the part where Doni and Coni interviewed each group member to determine how each of them progressed throughout the years of training and performing, and to highlight their special talents other than singing and dancing.
One of the special talents that the idols revealed was doing impressions of popular actors, hosts, and co-idols. Astro’s MJ was acknowledged by Doni and Coni as the best idol who can do impressions.
During the broadcast, idols also did some sketching where they were given paper and pencil, while other members were being interviewed.
Others performed with instruments such as Red Velvet’s Wendy playing the flute and Blackpink’s Rosé playing the guitar.
