Aspiring Air Traffic Manager Officers (ATMOs) and Basic Airfield Lighting and Power Technicians (ALTPs) are now a step closer to their desired fields after the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) announced today the launch of its Comprehensive Air Traffic Service Course (CATS 13) Basic Airfield Lighting and Power Technician Training Course for those who wish to be part of the county’s elite line of ATMOs and ALPTs.

Being a contracting state of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the country is mandated to establish a program to address the need for the next generation of aviation professionals (and) ensuring adequacy of these professionals to fulfill its mandate.
The program aims to attract, train, educate, and bind a new generation of aviation professionals in compliance with the rules of ICAO. It seeks to ensure that officer candidates will not only be trained for first post-assignment but also be prepared for a continuous professional evolution.
Nationwide examinations will be held simultaneously at the Civil Aviation Training Center (CATC) in Pasay City and in designated testing centers in Davao, Iloilo, Baguio, Tacloban, and Zamboanga on May 26, 2018for CATS 13 and in Manila (NCR), Kalibo, General Santos, Mactan, Tuguegarao, Puerto Princesa, Butuan, and Tacloban on March 10, 2018 for the Basic ALPT Course.
Deadline of application submissions are on May 11 for CATS 13 and February 28 for the Basic ALPT Course.
Application forms are available at the Human Resource Management Division (HRMD), CAAP Central Office in Pasay City, CAAP Testing Centers, office of the Airport Manager, HR Office, and ANS Facility-In-Charge.
