Security account manager shot dead
A security account manager was shot dead by one of the motorcycle-riding men who hid the gun under the wing of a fighting cock in Caloocan City Friday morning.
Castulo Salavarria, 55, who was working at Soliman Security Services, and a resident of Spring Subdivision in Barangay 167, died on the spot due to two gunshot wounds in the head, police said.
Initial investigation showed that Salavarria was on his way to a tricycle terminal at Sunriser Village in Barangay 167 when a gunman with three other men on two motorcycles appeared around 8:30 a.m.
The gunman then pulled out his firearm hidden under the wings of a fighting cock and fired shots toward Salavarria, said Caloocan Police North Extension Office chief head Sr. Insp. Dennis Odtuhan.
Recovered from the scene were two empty shells of an unknown caliber of firearm.
Salavarria's relatives said he was a good man and had no known enemy.
However, Odtuhan said the killing may be attributed to a charge of physical injury Salavarria filed against a certain neighbor.
Follow-up investigation is now underway. (Kate Louise Javier)
