Francisco gave a rousing performance of “The Prayer” by Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli that shocked and impressed Korean stars including Super Junior’s Leeteuk, Kim Jong Kook and Block B.
The 27-year-old call center agent told Bulletin Entertainment in an interview that with all of the singing offers coming her way after her Korea stint, she has decided to take time off from her job to chase her dream of becoming a singer.
“Para makapagpahinga na rin at ma-accommodate ko po lahat ng offers. Minsan lang po itong opportunity na binigay sa akin at ayaw ko na po palagpasin. Yun po talaga yung passion ko, yung pagkanta ko. Gusto ko na pong i-pursue. Five years na po ako sa call center,” said Franciso, adding that her first job was as audit staff at a car dealership company in Quezon City.
While employed as a call center agent, Francisco also sings at weddings, birthdays, debuts and other occasions.
During her performance on “I Can See Your Voice” Korea, Francisco got a standing ovation for performing the song in two voices.
“Grabe nakaka-overwhelm at the same time nakakataba ng puso kasi siyempre nire-represent ko yung Philippines at nagulat sila kasi paano ako nagkaroon ng dalawang boses knowing the fact na transgender ako,” she said, adding that after the show aired, “Ang daming nagme-message sa akin. Mga offers (din).”
Because of her trip to Korea and appearance on “I Can See Your Voice,” Francisco said she has now become a fan of K-pop. Her favorite Korean artists are former 2NE1 member Sandara Park, Lyn who sang the “My Destiny;” and Gummy, whose hits include “You Are My Everything” from the drama “Descendants of the Sun” original soundtrack.
“Since na-expose ako dun sa Korea, na-witness ko kung gaano kalaki ang K-pop sa Korea kaya sobrang naging fan na rin ako,” she said.
Francisco has applied to be a contestant on “The X Factor” UK and hopes she can be invited to “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” like Charice Pempengco, who is now known as Jake Zyrus.
“That’s my dream po talaga na mapakita, ma-showcase po talaga yung talent ng Pilipino sa ‘Ellen’ o sa ‘Oprah’ katulad nung kay Charice at mabigyan tayo ng opportunity na ma-showcase ang talent,” Francisco said.
