Although he’s been in the industry for quite some time now, Ryle Paolo Santiago believes 2018 will see his career peak in show business.

More known as one of “It’s Showtime’s” Kilig Ambassadors, Hashtags, the singer-actor is starting the year with a jam-packed schedule that includes blocked time for taping a teleserye, shooting his first-ever movie, and fulfilling his duties as product endorser.
So, when asked recently if he had ever felt jealous of the success of Hashtags colleagues Ronnie Alonte and McCoy de Leon, we believe him when he said, “sa akin naman po it’s not how fast you get there, but how long you stay.”
Ryle said: “Hindi naman po ako sa nagmamadali. I’ve been in showbiz for four years. Eh ’yung mas malaki pong artista na mas matagal po sa akin kahit kailan hindi naman po sila nagreklamo.
“So I like to build myself up slowly para hindi ’yung pagkasalang hindi ko alam ’yung gagawin ko. At least itong four years na’to, I was able to observe and learn from my colleagues, my partners. Natuto ako para gawin ’yung kaya kong gawin ngayon.”
So, no insecurities, huh?
“Alam ko naman po kung ano ’yung kaya kong ibigay at ibuga.”
Two dads
Although his parents – actress Sherilyn Reyes and producer-director Reily “Junjun” Santiago Jr., the brother of Rowell, Randy at Raymart – have established their names in the entertainment industry, Ryle revealed he passed through the “right” process in entering showbiz.
In fact, he underwent different trainings with Star Magic to hone his talent in singing, dancing, playing the guitar, and acting.
Although Ryle uses Santiago for screen name, he uses the last name of his stepfather, former basketball player Chris Tan, on his social media accounts.
“Siyempre po si Daddy ’yung nag-alaga sa akin mula bata pa ako so gusto ko namang ibigay sa kanya ’yun. Na I want to be part of his family, I want to be his son. I’m a Santiago by blood pero Tan ako by heart,” he explained when asked about it.
Recall that Ryle greeted Chris on his Instagram account on Father’s Day with their throwback picture.

As Ryle values his family, education and work, he’s been tapped to endorse Cherub Baby care products that include wipes, soap, powder, and cologne.
According to Aileen Choi-Go, Vice President for Marketing of Megasoft Hygienic Products Inc., makers of Cherub, she saw the passion in Ryle both as an artist and student. This quality embodies the vision mission of their company – “empower the youth and achiever.”
Ryle is flattered by the observation and selection.
“Mahirap po na dalhin ’yun as it takes a lot of responsibility. So kailangan maging role model and I’ll like to be someone that people at my age will look up to as achiever or responsible citizen and productive member of society,” he said.
On Cherub’s third year, Ryle is set to join the successful “Megasoft School Is Cool Tour” that provides entertainment, holds inspirational talks and gives recognition to outstanding students and teachers.
