Power interruptions affect Calabarzon

By (PNA) Calamba City, Laguna — Some areas in Calabarzon Region, particularly Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, and Rizal, may experience temporary power interruptions due to maintenance and service works including testing works and relocation of facilities and posts of the power distribution utility firm Manila Electric Co. (Meralco). In its advisory issued on Monday, Meralco said that Dasmariñas City, Imus City, and General Trias City in Cavite was expected to experience service interruptions on Tuesday. Beginning 11 p.m. on Tuesday (Jan. 23) until 4 a.m. on Wednesday (Jan. 24), some areas in Kawit, Cavite from the Kawit Municipal Hall Complex along Centennial Road in Barangay Batong Dalig will experience temporary power service outages due to the relocation of primary facilities affected by overpass construction along Centennial Road in Barangay Batong Dalig by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH). The five-hour temporary power outage on Tuesday was due to the relocation of facilities affected by the DPWH road-widening project along the Calamba – Los Baños National Highway, Barangay Bukal in Calamba City. On Wednesday (Jan. 24), areas in Cainta in Rizal province will also experience power service interruptions from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the affected areas such as St. Joseph Subd. and Villarica in Barangay Sto. Domingo, Cainta due to line re-conduct works, installation of facilities, and replacement of poles inside St. Joseph Subdivision, Barangay Sto. Domingo in Cainta, Rizal province. In Tanay, Rizal Province, some areas will have no electricity from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday (Jan. 24) due to the extension of circuit Malaya 48MM and unloading of circuit Malaya 44MM in Barangay Tandang Kutyo in Tanay, Rizal Province. Meralco also announced that Imus City in Cavite will have temporary power outage from 11 p.m. on Wednesday (Jan. 24) until 4 a.m. on Thursday (Jan. 25) due to the relocation of primary facilities inside Mary Cris Homes Subdivision, Barangay Bucandala III. Likewise, San Pablo City in Laguna will also experience temporary power service glitches from 11 to 11:59 p.m. today Wednesday (Jan. 24) and between 7:01 and 8 a.m. on Thursday (Jan. 25) due to preventive maintenance and testing works inside the Meralco-San Pablo II substation. Bay in Laguna will also experience power interruption from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday (Jan. 25) due to the replacement of facilities along Sampaguita Street in Barangay Paciano Rizal in Bay. The town of Sto. Tomas, Batangas will experience power outage from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday (Jan. 25) due to the relocation of facilities affected by the DPWH road-widening project along the Maharlika Highway in Barangay San Jose in Sto. Tomas. Meralco has also scheduled on Thursday (Jan. 25) the replacement of hazardous poles, installation of additional lightning protection devices and line re-conductor works along Manggahan Floodway West Bank Road in Barangay Maybunga in Pasig City resulting in temporary power glitches from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Cainta and Taytay in Rizal Province.
