Rosario, Cavite – Property worth millions of pesos went up in smoke when a more than seven-hour fire razed two buildings of Scad Services Pte. Ltd. at the Cavite Economic Zone Authority (CEZA)-Phase IV here.
Governor Jesus Crispin C. Remulla, Cavite Crisis Committee chairman, reported that no casualty was reported in the fire that started at 9:37 p.m. Friday and was placed under control at 4:49 a.m. Saturday.
Scad Services Pte. Ltd. is a sister company of House Technologies Inc. (HTI). It will be recalled that it was HTI’s building in neighboring General Trias City that was gutted down by fire that lasted for several days in February, 2017. The HTI fire reportedly left at least six of its employees dead and over a hundred others injured.
Scad and HTI are manufacturers of wood products and other materials.
Remulla said that razed by the fire in Rosario were the Scad assembly building for doors and window frames and the HTI building, an area for spruce cutting.
The Cavite Central Fire Station reported that the fire reached Task Force Alpha or Fifth Alarm, but there were no casualties among the more than 1,000 employees.
