Malabon LGU, DRRM provide emergency equipment to police, jail personnel

The Malabon City government and the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) Office distributed emergency response equipment to the Malabon City Police Station (MCPS) and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) on Monday, March 10, as part of the city’s ongoing disaster preparedness efforts.

Mayor Jeannie Sandoval and DRRM head Roderick Tongol led the distribution of rescue boats, life vests, rescue tools, and other essential emergency equipment to assist personnel in responding to disasters and emergencies.

The initiative aims to enhance the capacity of local authorities to respond swiftly and effectively to natural disasters, accidents, and other emergencies.

Sandoval underscored the importance of equipping frontline responders with the necessary tools to ensure the safety and well-being of Malabueños.

She reaffirmed the city government's commitment to strengthening disaster preparedness and response mechanisms, especially in light of the increasing frequency and severity of natural calamities.

As part of the event, the mayor led a recognition ceremony honoring six police personnel for their dedication to maintaining order and protecting the community.

The MCPS recognized the following officers with certificates of appreciation:

This effort is part of Malabon’s broader disaster resilience and community safety strategy, which focuses on improving coordination between local agencies, conducting regular training and community drills, and strengthening infrastructure to withstand calamities.
