A magnitude 4.8 earthquake rocked parts of Cebu and nearby provinces on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 15, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.
In its Earthquake Information No. 1, the agency said the tremor struck at 3:38 p.m., with its epicenter located 9 kilometers north of Bogo City, Cebu.
Phivolcs said the tectonic quake had a depth of 10 kilometers.
Phivolcs said instrumental intensities were recorded in several areas, including Intensity III in Villaba and Isabel, Leyte.
Meanwhile, the agency said Intensity I was monitored in Leyte and Carigara, Leyte; Kawayan, Biliran; and Talibon, Bohol.
No damage and no aftershocks are expected from the quake, Phivolcs said.
