Baguio City gov't puts up sanitation tents

By Zaldy Comanda BAGUIO CITY – The city government will begin setting up Tuesday sanitation tents with spray systems in critical public areas, such as hospital entrances, as a mitigation measure to prevent the transmission of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19). (BAGUIO PIO / MANILA BULLETIN) (BAGUIO PIO / MANILA BULLETIN) The sanitation tents "allow the disinfection of persons in public areas, especially the health workers, frontliners and employees who cannot afford to stay at home through sterilization lasting 30 seconds." Mayor Benjie Magalong said three of the targeted 20 units will be ready Tuesday morning at the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center isolation and CT scan rooms and at the Lindi Hotel containment area. Another three will be completed in the afternoon and will be deployed at the St. Louis University Hospital of the Sacred Heart and the BGH triage area. Some units will be installed at the district health centers. CBAO Officer-in-Charge Arch. Johnny Degay said the technology that uses "low cost, upcycle-able household materials" and is easily built was developed by the University of the Philippines professionals. The whole system has three components: the structure or frame, diffuser system and disinfectant solution.
