All kindergaten, elementary, high school, and senior high school students of Caloocan city will each receive P500 financial aid due to the extension of the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).

Mayor Oca Malapitan expressed belief that “every child is important,” so the city will “do its best” to extend assistance to them. Beneficiaries will be those enrolled for school year 2019 to 2020, which will be based on the Department of Education-Caloocan’s list, according to the local government. City officials are currently finalizing the list and will announce the process as soon as they are done, it added. Previously, the local government announced that it would give P1,000 cash to each of the city’s around 500,000 households and P1,000 to all students of the University of Caloocan City. As of Wednesday, April 29, Caloocan has already had 179 confirmed coronavirus disease cases, 370 suspect cases, and 667 probable cases. Thirty-four have already recovered.
