Former Senate President and Pinoy netizens' favorite "immortal", Juan Ponce Enrile, will be in the limelight again in the upcoming Marcos administration after he was designated as the next chief presidential legal counsel.

Now 98 years old, Enrile held multiple posts in government during the time of the late President Ferdinand Marcos Sr., from defense minister, to finance secretary, to justice secretary.

It remains to be seen if Enrile would still be a prolific part in the Cabinet of the new Marcos in Malacañang--President-elect Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.

Meanwhile, Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Francisco Duque III advised Filipinos not to take the uptick in new Covid-19 cases in Metro Manila lightly.

“We have to be still complying strictly with our masking mandate and the rest of the minimum public health standards. We don’t want to squander our gains. So I call upon everyone, magkaisa tayo (let us unite),” Duque said during a press briefing.

Health authorities and policymakers alike have been yearning for the Philippines to move into the endemic phase from the pandemic phase as far as Covid-19 is concerned, as this would allow the country’s economy to recover faster.
