The Quezon City Police District arrested on Wednesday, April 3, two individuals for allegedly stealing a motorcycle in North Fairview, Quezon City.
Batasan Police Station (PS 6) operatives identified the suspects as Jalanie Bernardino Ibrahim, 18, and Abdulsamad Bajas Usman, 23, both residents of Brgy. North Fairview, Quezon City.
According to the initial police report, the victim parked his motorcycle outside their residence on Kamagong St. in Brgy. Commonwealth, Quezon City.
However, at around 10:00 a.m. on April 2, he discovered that his motorcycle was missing, prompting him to report the incident to Brgy. Commonwealth officials and later to Batasan PS 6.
The victim’s sister later discovered that the missing motorcycle had been advertised for sale on Facebook Marketplace under the name of Mark Anthony Legaspi. She then posed as a buyer and agreed to meet the seller at Atherton St., corner Commonwealth Avenue, Brgy. North Fairview, Quezon City.
A follow-up operation on April 3 around 12:20 p.m. resulted in the arrest of Ibrahim and Usman.
Operatives confiscated from the suspects a black Honda Click 125, which was positively identified by the victim as his own.
The suspects will be charged for violation of Republic Act 10883 or the Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016 before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
