10-month old infant among latest COVID-19 cases in Davao Oriental
DAVAO CITY - A 10-month old boy, who was a locally stranded individual (LSI) from Manila, was among those who were tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Davao Oriental on Thursday.
In a statement posted on its official Facebook page, the province of Davao Oriental said 10 cases were recorded on Thursday. Among them was the 10-month old infant who arrived in Cateel town on June 29. The child underwent swab testing on July 7, and the results came out the next day.
Based on the local government unit’s data, the child was the only one from Cateel town who tested positive. Four persons from Baganga town, who arrived from Manila on July 6, was also found to be infected with the coronavirus.
Three more persons from Boston town also tested positive. The other two cases included that of a 35-year-old man, who was an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) from Saudi Arabia to returning to Mati City; and a 58-year-old woman, an LSI who returned to Caraga town from Manila on July 2.
All of the patients were asymptomatic, and are currently under quarantine in their respective town’s Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.
Davao Oriental currently has 23 active cases.
Meanwhile, the province also recorded three new recoveries on Thursday bringing, the total number of those who have successfully recovered to 21.
Among those who have recovered was a jail guard of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology in Lupon town, an LSI, and a returning OFW, who are both from Caraga town.
