The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) announced on Thursday, March 8, the recovery of a stolen vehicle in Tuguegarao City.
According to the report, the vehicle was retrieved by the operatives of the District Anti-Carnapping Unit (DACU) under Police Major Hector Ortencio.
Based on the initial report, the victim reported on January 24 that his Hyundai Reina was carnapped by suspect Chrysthel Ilao, 27, a resident of Batangas City, after the latter failed to pay the monthly amortization of the vehicle.
On March 6, at 9:00 p.m., DACU operatives obtained information that the vehicle was in the possession of a resident of Cataggaman Viejo, Tuguegarao City.
Operatives quickly proceeded to the location where they successfully recovered the motor vehicle which is now temporarily impounded at DACU.
The investigation further revealed that the victim acquired the vehicle from Ilao and made an agreement that she would pay her monthly.
Cases of estafa and carnapping were already filed against suspect Ilao before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
