Panglao Island in Bohol rises as top wellness destination for 2025

The Department of Tourism (DOT) has lauded Panglao Island in Bohol for securing a spot in Skyscanner’s Top 10 Trending Destinations for 2025.

In a statement, the DOT said Panglao’s impressive 8th place ranking was driven by a 77 percent surge in flight searches during the first half of 2024.

Renowned for its pristine beaches and eco-tourism attractions, Bohol is rapidly gaining recognition as a premier wellness destination.

Visitors are captivated by the island’s unique offerings, such as the iconic Chocolate Hills, the tranquil Loboc River, and the fascinating Tarsier Sanctuary, all of which combine relaxation with adventure while promoting sustainable tourism.

Skyscanner, a global travel platform, compiled the list based on flight search data from January to June 2024, showing a notable increase in interest from UK travelers seeking distinctive and unconventional destinations.

The rising popularity of Panglao highlights its potential to emerge as a key player in international wellness tourism, offering visitors a rejuvenating experience enriched by the island’s natural beauty and cultural heritage.
