Mayor Honey visits Tondo residents amid Tropical Storm Enteng

Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan personally visited the areas affected by heavy rains brought by Tropical Storm Enteng on Monday, September 2.
She went to Barangays 101 to 128, Baseco and Isla Puting Bato to check the situation of the families at the evacuation sites.
While the Malacañang Palace suspended the government work in Metro Manila on Monday, the emergency units of the Manila local government continuously provided services amid the calamity to respond to the emergency situations in the city.
The mayor left it to the discretion of private offices whether to suspend their work or not.
She also ordered the suspension of classes in all levels in private and public schools.
Meanwhile, the local chief executive urged the residents to take note of the emergency hotlines, which they may call to seek assistance.
Aside from the city offices, she said the Manila- Bureau of Fire Philippines (BFP), and Manila Police District (MPD) are also roving the streets in Manila to assist stranded residents.
The six city-run hospitals, along with the Manila Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (DRRMO), Department of Engineering and Public Works (DEPW) and Department of Social Welfare (DSW), are also on standby in case of emergency.
The Manila Department of Public Services (DPS) was also directed to assist the Manila DRRMO and DEPW in clearing roads of fallen trees, electric poles and all other obstructions brought by strong winds and flooding.
They were also instructed to temporarily remove tarpaulins because they might be blown away by strong winds that could cause accidents.
Barangay leaders were also ordered to conduct preemptive evacuation among families living in low-lying areas to ensure their safety.
All Manileños are advised of the possible power interruption brought about by moderate to heavy rains due to tropical depression.
