The Parañaque City government recognized on Tuesday, August 6, five athletes who bagged awards in the recently concluded Palarong Pambansa 2024 held in Cebu City.
Parañaque City Mayor Eric Olivarez honored athletes Jhun Mark Zabala, who got a bronze medal in badminton mixed double boys; Marc Nemiz, silver and gold medals in chess boys secondary competition; Zoie Alexa Crook, gold medal in the taekwondo poomsae high school women’s team event; Adrinee Reese Tacuboy, gold medal in swimming competition; and Laira Jae Temporosa, bronze medal in wrestling.
Aside from the young athletes, the city government also recognized Pedro Taduran Jr. for winning the IBF World Minimum Weight title.
As a sports enthusiast, Olivarez said his administration continuously promote sports as a way of preventing the youth from engaging in illegal drug activities and other vices.
