Partly cloudy skies, rain showers to prevail across the country — PAGASA

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Monday, July 8, said the entire archipelago will experience partly cloudy to cloudy weather conditions with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the next 24 hours.

Weather Specialist Obet Badrina said there are no tropical cyclones or low pressure areas that may affect the country in the next two to three days.

PAGASA said the easterlies, or warm winds from the Pacific Ocean, will remain the dominant weather system, particularly affecting Eastern Visayas, Bicol Region, Quezon, Aurora, Isabela, and Cagayan.

The rest of the country will also experience partly cloudy to cloudy weather with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.

However, the public is warned that severe thunderstorms may result in flash floods or landslides.

Based on the PAGASA’s forecast for July 9, the likelihood of rainfall across select key cities is as follows: Metro Manila (70 percent), Laoag City (30 percent), Baguio City (70 percent), Legazpi City (80 percent), Puerto Princesa City (70 percent), Metro Cebu (80 percent), Bacolod City (60 percent), Cagayan de Oro City (90 percent), Metro Davao (60 percent), and Zamboanga City (80 percent).
