Man shot dead by security guard in Novaliches

A man was shot dead by a security guard in a hospital in Novaliches, Quezon City, on Friday, July 5. 

Prior to the incident, the victim reportedly brought his friend to the Novaliches District Hospital for treatment of injuries he sustained in a motorcycle accident.

A heated argument over parking space ensued between the victim and the security guard.

At the height of the altercation, the guard shot the victim twice in the chest.

The security guard immediately fled after the shooting.

Quezon City Police District (QCPD) chief Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan reminded the public to control their anger to prevent such an incident.

"Ako ay nananawagan sa ating mga kababayan na huwag pairalin ang init ng ulo upang maiwasan ang ganitong insidente (I urge our fellow citizens not to let their tempers flare up to avoid incidents like this)," he said.

Maranan also assured that the QCPD will pursue the suspect.

"Sa pamilya nang biktima, kami ay buong pusong nakikiramay at sinisiguro namin na hindi titigil ang kapulisan ng QCPD na hanapin ang suspek at pagbayarin sa krimeng kanyang ginawa (To the victim's family, we extend our heartfelt condolences, and we assure you that the QCPD will relentlessly pursue the suspect and hold them accountable for the crime he committed),” he said.
