PBA great and two-time Most Valuable Player Willie Miller is making his return to the league but as an assistant coach to Converge, the team announced on Tuesday, Nov. 7.

With a career that spanned 16 years and saw him win a total of four championships and two Finals MVP citations as one of the league most crafty court generals, "The Thriller" is expected to provide guidance and develop the FiberXers' slew of young and talented guards.
“We're thrilled to have Willie Miller join our coaching staff at Converge FiberXers. His unparalleled experience and exceptional skills as a guard in the PBA will be a game-changer for our young talents. With Coach Willie's guidance, our guards are poised for remarkable growth and development,” said FiberXers team manager Jacob Lao.
Miller, who won his two MVP plums with the Alaska franchise which later on was bought by Converge, signed the contract with team governor Archen Cayabyab, assistant team manager CK Kanapi-Daniolco and fellow former MVP turned assistant coach Danny Ildefonso.
“After his playing career, Willie has been passionate about coaching at the grassroots level. It’s really his passion. So when we got to talk to him and asked if he could be part of our staff, he did not hesitate to say yes to us,” said Cayabyab.
Converge guards Alec Stockton, Aljun Melecio, Adrian Wong and even rookie Schonny Winston stand to benefit from Miller's addition on the FiberXers’ bench.
