PCSO gives P3M lotto share to Marikina LGU, holds medical-dental caravan
The Marikina City local government received the city’s lotto share worth P3 million from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) during the agency’s medical and dental caravan on Monday, May 22.

On behalf of the local government, Marikina City 1st District Representative Marjorie Ann “Maan” Teodoro accepted the P3 million cheque from the representatives of the PCSO in a ceremony at the Marikina Convention Center.
The money will be utilized to support Marikina’s medical and health-related programs, said the city’s Public Information Office (PIO).
According to Executive Order No. 357, series of 1996, the grant of a five percent share from the thirty percent Lotto Charity Fund of the PCSO is given to local government units where lotto tickets are sold.

The PCSO also held a charity outreach program for around 500 senior citizens in Marikina City. The seniors received free medical and dental consultations, medicines, and tooth extraction. They were also given grocery packs to take home. The caravan provided additional services along with the regular free healthcare services offered by the city government to its constituents. Rep. Teodoro also took the opportunity to converse with the program beneficiaries to determine their particular needs, and address their issues. Scholarship certificates from the PCSO were also conferred to two youth students in the city.
