CAMP DANGWA, Benguet – Police seized marijuana and shabu worth P83.8 million and arrested 10 suspected drug pushers during a week-long anti-illegal drugs operation in the Cordillera from July 16 to 22.
The Kalinga and Benguet Provincial Police Offices uprooted 5,560 fully grown marijuana plants, confiscated 70,000 dried marijuana leaves and fruiting tops, and 5,000 marijuana stalks with an overall standard drug price (SDP) of P83.7 million.
These were burned after documentation and follow-up operations are being conducted to identify their cultivators.
Police said 10.69 grams of suspected shabu with an overall SDP of P72,692 were seized from the 10 suspects.
Five were arrested by the Benguet Police Provincial Office (PPO), Baguio City Police Office (BCPO), three; and Abra PPO, two.
Suspects and pieces of evidence are in the custody of arresting units.
Charges for violating the Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being filed against them.
