Attendees to the closing ceremonies of the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Tarlac, and the U2 concert in Bulacan were advised to do carpooling to help lessen traffic on major thoroughfares going to and from the event venues.

In two separate interviews with DZMM, MMDA EDSA traffic chief Bong Nebrija urged those attending the two major events in the north to plan their travel "accordingly."
"Kung pwede po, mag carpool tayo, lalong lalo na po iyong manunuod ng concert, para sa ganon maiwasan na po natin iyong dagsa ng sasakyan na papunta sa area na iyan," Nebrija said.
The closing rites of the SEA games in New Clark City will finish roughly around the same time as U2's concert at the Philippine Arena.
"Ang pinaka kritikal yung pabalik, ang inaanticipate namin yung balikan, kasi pag katapos ng closing ceremonies...eh yung balikan po ay baka sumabay sa labasan ng concert...pareho pong malaking event po ito," he said.
The EDSA traffic czar said all is set for the closing ceremonies of the SEA games.
"Walang pinagkaiba sa latag nung opening ceremony, almost the same time, mga 12:00 nn to 5:00 pm ang block time namin dito," Nebrija said.
Nebrija said MMDA would be monitoring traffic in Roxas Blvd., Osmeña Highway going to EDSA, España, and Quezon Avenue where convoys of SEA games delegates will pass through going to Tarlac.
"Critical areas" like Mindanao Avenue Exit and Balintawak Exit in EDSA from the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) will also be closely monitored by the MMDA,” Nebrija added.
Nebrija also said that they might ask mall operators to close down their entrances near EDSA to help lessen the traffic in the major thoroughfare.
