Regine Tolentino chose to concentrate on her new soap “Ina, Kasusuklaman Ba Kita?” which is the reason she had to leave “Unang Hirit.”

“I’ve always been careful about career decisions so I felt bad with the way some of the write-ups came out about my leaving ‘Unang Hirit’ because some of the things written were not true,” she told the Manila Bulletin at the launch of A Fucoidan, Regine’s new found food supplement she claimed to have helped her trim down and parade her new waistline of 22 and 3/4 inches.

Regine said she has always wanted to try acting again. Although she’s been with the GMA morning program for some time now, she could not pass the opportunity to dabble on mainstream drama. “I will still be on ‘Unang Hirit’ but not on a regular basis because it’s hard to do a morning show and tape regularly for a drama series aired later in the day.”

She explained that she asked her management GMA Artist Center if she could choose the soap over the morning show. Regine recalled, “GMA was very kind enough to allow me to do the series and still be in ‘Unang Hirit.’ It’s not that I am leaving the show entirely because I will still be doing segments when I can. In fact, I will be there to do a dance segment.”

Meanwhile, Regine was happy to tell the media that her marriage to Lander Vera-Perez is doing very good, this after struggling a few years back. “We’re doing very, very well. Lander and I are very okay for seven years now and we’ve been married for 13 years. Lahat naman ng relationships have their ups and downs. We’re just blessed that we managed to fix things.”

Regine is the new face of A Fucoidan, an energy-boosting and anti-ageing food supplement brought to the Philippines by former actress and TV host Marissa del Mar who said she discovered the wonder capsule from a couple in Japan.

Instead of taking the offer to endorse A Fucoidan in Japan, she opted to share its benefits with the Filipino consumers. Marissa shared, “I also felt that the best person to speak about the product is Regine. She’s my first and only choice. She started taking A Fucoidan just last October and felt the benefits – enhanced her skin, hair and helped her lose weight.”
