HYBE to find new girl group through survival show 'R U Next?'
HYBE, home to K-pop acts BTS, Seventeen, ENHYPEN, Tomorrow X Together, Le Sserafim and NewJeans, will be forming a new girl group through a survival show “R U Next?”
“R U Next?” will be broadcast on the Korean TV channel JTBC and Japanese broadcasting service Abema TV.
"R U Next?" will select the members of the new girl group (Belift Lab)
ENHYPEN (Belift Lab)
Belift Lab, the label established jointly by HYBE and CJ ENM, revealed with JTBC on June 1 that they have started filming the show that is produced by Studio JAMM and Mushroom Company. The members of the new global girl group that will debut under Belift Lab will chosen through “ R U Next?” During the 10 episodes of the show, the participants will train under a top-notch training curriculum and prove they have what it takes to be the next generation global star. A new episode will drop weekly starting June 30. “The trainees will be required to pass seven rounds of challenges in the show where they are expected to prove their potential, expressivity, genre fluidity, professionalism, uniqueness, creativity, and their ‘star factor.’ Fierce competition is inevitable, but the show will also be a look into the stories of each trainee and the relationship they build in the process,” according to the production team. Belift Lab launched its first boy band, ENHYPEN, through the audition program “I-LAND.” “R U Next?” is a project separate from “I-LAND.” Under HYBE’s multi-label strategy, “R U Next?” will serve as the last step before the debut of the next generation girl group that reflects Belift Lab’s unique character.
