Myrus accepts the White Flower Star of the Night Award in the 1st PMPC Star Awards for Music.

Sony Music recording artist and certified hit-maker Myrus will be performing his phenomenally popular reinterpretation of the classic jukebox song “Sayang” in “SOP” (GMA-7) on Sunday.

The variety show’s regulars Eva Castillo and Philippine Idol Gretchen Espina join Myrus as he renders his version of the song originally recorded by Claire dela Fuente three decades ago.

Last week, Myrus performed a duet with Mark Bautista in the Most Requested Songs (MRS) segment of “ASAP ’09” (ABS-CBN 2) and promoted the repackaged version of his fast-selling debut album “Love Cycle.”

The 2008 ASEA Most Promising Young R&B Artist is indeed living up to his promise. A few months ago, he was nominated in the best solo R&B category of the first Philippine Radio Music Awards, and last week won the White Flower Male Star of the Night in the 1st PMPC Star Awards for Music along with Rachelle Ann Go.

“It was a pleasant surprise to be chosen as the White Flower Male Star of the Night in the PMPC Star Awards for Music. I am truly flattered,” says Myrus.

On Nov. 20, Myrus will be performing at the Araneta Coliseum along with international artist Lea Salonga, Top Suzara, Pinky Marquez, Dingdong Dantes, Mike Chan, and Bituin Escalante in a charity concert dubbed as “Echoes of Dreams.” The concert is being staged for the benefit of children with special needs – including those with autism, down syndrome, and those recovering from abuse. The concert is organized by Center for Arts.

Myrus is also busy touring various SM Supermalls branches to promote his album. He is scheduled to visit SM San Lazaro (Nov. 8), SM Manila (Nov. 14), SM Bacoor, Cavite (Nov. 20), SM Southmall (Nov. 21), SM Clark, Pampanga (Nov. 5) and SM Rosario, Cavite (Dec. 4). Buyers of the album will get the chance to join a raffle that includes as prizes a MacBook White, HP Mini, iPod Touch, and iPod Shuffles. 10% discount stubs for selected Binalot branches will also be given away during the album promo shows.
