Chynna Ortaleza is behind boyfriend Riley Valeroso’s showbiz comeback even if the latter now belonged to ABS-CBN while Chynna remains with GMA-7.

“I told him [Riley] na it’s his chance, that he needs to do his best kasi it’s his comeback,” Chynna told the Manila Bulletin in a restaurant in Calamba, Laguna where she stopped for lunch before awarding outstanding students of the province who were recognized by one of the leading feminine napkin brands, Sisters.

Chynna even recounted how Riley felt very nervous of a bed scene he was to shoot with another former Kapuso, Karylle at that time. The scene was for a Kapamilya primetime soap Riley was recently cast in.

“Kabadong-kabado talaga siya and he told me nga na it was both ways because Karylle also did not feel comfortable doing it,” Chynna recalled. “It turned out na okay naman yung scene eh talagang sobrang kaba niya na hindi nga niya masabi sa’kin yung eksena. Puro siya, ‘Ano kasi eh... may eksena kami ni Karylle...’ So I said, ‘Ano nga?’ Then he said, ‘Ano eh...’ Kaya sabi ko, ‘Kissing scene? Bed scene?’ ‘Yun nga!’ he said.”

Chynna, who is amongst the few underrated actresses of today, just told him, “Kayang-kaya mo yan... Pag-igihin mo lang. Ayusin mo kasi comeback mo nga yan. Nung napanuod ko, okay naman. Natuwa naman ako for him.”

The “SOP” regular also said that she welcomes the development that she and Riley, who has been committed to each other for the past six years, are working for different networks. She said that both still manage to see each other’s shows and show support despite the clashing mother networks. Suffice it to say, the network war ends at the limit of the competition. The artists’ relationships are a different case.

But when confronted with wedding questions, Chynna said, “Wala pa. Marami pa naman kaming gustong gawin.”

However, she admitted to talking roughly about wedding plans with Riley. “Napapag-usapan naman namin ang kasal. Lahat naman ng relationships siyempre gusto mo dun magtuloy. Nangangarap din naman ako na darating yung araw na bride ako.”

A former mainstay of the teen show “Click” on GMA, Chynna has grown to become one of the more reliable young actresses. Apart from “SOP,” Chynna will soon be seen on a primetime show, she told the Bulletin. “There are projects lined up and I’m thankful to GMA for it. ‘Di ko pa lang puwedeng sabihin.”

Chynna supports the advocate of Sisters Feminine Napkin. She believes in the cause of Megasoft’s (makers of Sisters) Ailleen Go to inspire young students to realize their full potential no matter where they are in the Philippines as Sisters has been carrying on a tour all over the Philippines to promote quality education.
