The singer rationalized why she kept returning to her abusive beau.
“It’s completely normal to go back. You start lying to yourself. The minute the physical wounds go away, you want this thing to go away. This is a memory you don’t wanna have ever again,” she mused.
She admits to have felt humiliated with the leakage of the infamous photo showing her battered face.
“[It] is not a photo you would show to anybody. I felt completely taken advantage of. I felt like people were making it into a fun topic on the Internet, and it’s my life.

She nevertheless opts to look on the bright side of the traumatic situation.
“People can learn from that. I want to give as much insight as I can to young women, because I feel like I represent a voice that really isn’t heard. Now I can help speak for those women,” said she.
The chart-topping artist said the incident vis-a-vis her influence on the youth make for a timely “wake-up call.”
“When I realized that my selfish decision for love could result into some young girl getting killed, I could not be easy with that part. I couldn't be held responsible for telling them go back.
“I just didn’t realize how much of an impact I had on these girls’ lives, until that happened.”
She also warned them not to “react off of love.”
“Come out of the situation third person, and for what it really is, and then make your decision. Because love is so blind,” Rihanna advised.
