Never has this many hair strands been waxed at Strip, thanks to managing director Roberta “Tab” Abad, who has a passion for grooming. For as long as I can remember, I have always shaved my underarm, legs and other parts of my body,” she reminisces.  But with every shaving session she had, she would get nicks and cuts. It was only a few years back when she decided to go the “Brazilian” way at Strip during a trip abroad, “I was really shocked. Never did I imagine something to be so process-oriented and clean.  No double dipping (the wooden spatulas used for waxing), and waxed in 15 minutes flat.”  This prompted her to bring this discovery back to Manila.

Why go Brazilian?  Abad is quick to share that hygiene is the most important reason, not just for women, but for men as well.  In fact, they are even working on the patent name for “boyzillian”— the waxing service Strip has coined for gentlemen who wish to have the Brazillian wax.

Of course, an international franchise means rigorous training, with trainers flying in from Singapore and China. From as simple as underarm waxing to going all out “down there,” Strip’s local technicians have practiced on so many volunteers, even on themselves, for eight weeks straight. You’re definitely in good hands. 

Hygiene is also tops on their list with each client getting a personal strip hygiene sealed pack that includes disposable latex gloves to prevent cross contamination, fresh cotton pads for pre-waxing disinfecting solution, brand-new pieces of disposable wooden spatulas, pre-sealed wet wipes, and cotton buds for application of post wash product. 

Strip’s White Chocolate and Vanilla-scented wax is also very gentle on the skin; has a good grip even on short hair strands and promises to reduce any kind of skin irritation.  Still afraid you may feel pain? They’ll give you cute, little, squishy toys, and even bach flower essence to help relieve. They really think of everything!

Aside from waxing, Strip offers laser hair removal that both the technicians and Abad promise to be painless and effective.  Promos and new products are introduced monthly to make waxing even more enjoyable and enticing, with Brazillian Crystals (semi-permanent premium-grade rhinestone tattoos) as the latest offering. “I, myself, wanted to put some bling just for fun.  And when we mentioned the idea to other strip-pers (clients), they also wanted to have one,” Abad excitedly adds. 

Strip just keeps on surprising us with its new products. The next baby?  A new, scented wax, that’s even more painless, will be introduced soon.  We can’t wait!
