The Manila city government has extended more than P18 million in financial assistance to 17 patients to help cover their hospital expenses under its Kaagapay Program.
Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno" Domagoso personally handed over checks to the beneficiaries as support for their medical treatment and related costs.
“Pasalamat kayo sa Diyos at sa taxpayers ng Maynila. May awa lagi ang Diyos, huwag kayong mawawalan ng pag-asa. Basta hangga’t nandirito ako, hangga’t kaya ko, hangga’t may mapipiga ako sa bimpo, pipigain ko (Be thankful to God and to the taxpayers of Manila. God is always merciful, so don’t lose hope. As long as I am here, as long as I can, as long as there is something I can squeeze out of the budget, I will do so.),” Domagoso said.
City officials said the initiative reflects the local government’s continued efforts to provide accessible healthcare assistance to residents in need.
They added that the program also demonstrates how taxpayers’ contributions are being returned to the public through direct, immediate, and tangible services for Manileños.
The Kaagapay Program is among the city’s key initiatives aimed at easing the financial burden of medical expenses, particularly for patients requiring hospitalization.
