Stray Kids' Seungmin to miss Governors Ball in New York after stress fracture diagnosis

Stray Kids member Seungmin will not participate in the upcoming Governors Ball Music Festival in New York City in June after being diagnosed with a stress fracture in his left ankle, according to his agency, JYP Entertainment.
In a statement released on May 21, the agency said Seungmin is currently focused on treatment and recovery, while also undergoing further detailed tests related to associated symptoms and potential complications.
The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons defines a stress fracture as an overuse injury that develops when muscles become fatigued and are no longer able to adequately absorb impact, transferring repeated stress to the bone and resulting in small cracks.
JYP Entertainment said Seungmin has been avoiding strenuous physical activity and maintaining rest in his daily routine. However, medical professionals have advised him to limit long-distance air travel and time spent in confined spaces to support full recovery. He will therefore continue to rest and receive ongoing treatment while his condition is closely monitored.
Seungmin’s absence means Stray Kids will perform at the Governors Ball Music Festival on June 6 as a seven-member group.
