It's hardy even a secret that VinFast plans to expand its presence in the Philippines with a lineup of electric scooters to complement its lineup of cars. VinFast is preparing to officially enter the country’s two wheeler market in the coming months.
The first three
VinFast plans to launch its first e-scooter lineup in the Philippines in July 2026, with preorders expected to begin in June. The first three models will be the Evo, Feliz II, and Viper. Although final specifications may still change ahead of the official launch.
The VinFast Evo is positioned as the entry-level commuter model aimed at students, first time EV users, and everyday urban riders. Depending on battery configuration, the scooter can deliver up to 150 kilometers of range per charge, with top speeds of up to 80 km/h on selected variants.
Meanwhile, the Feliz II is positioned as a more comfortable and lifestyle-oriented urban scooter, targeting commuters and families looking for a smoother everyday riding experience with added practicality. VinFast says the model can travel up to around 145 kilometers on dual battery configurations and reach top speeds of up to 90 km/h.
At the sportier end of the lineup sits the Viper, which targets younger and more performance-focused riders with sharper styling, a more dynamic riding character, and Smart Key as standard. The model delivers up to 5,200W of output and top speeds approaching 90 km/h while still remaining practical enough for daily commuting use.
Prices have not be announced yet. However, if VinFast's lineup of four-wheel vehicles is anything to go by, the electric scooters will be competitively priced and offered with or without battery subscription plans.
Range, charging, and battery swapping
Under preliminary Philippine specifications, all three scooters use LFP batteries and support both home charging and battery swapping. Charging times range from around 4.5-hours for single battery versions to roughly 3.5-hours using optional fast chargers on dual battery variants. Customers who opt for battery subscription programs may access swapping stations, while buyers who purchase batteries outright can mainly charge at home.
The company and ecosystem partner V-Green  is targeting approximately 30,000 battery swapping stations nationwide over time. Already, V-Green, alongside government agencies and private sector partners, is working to build the supporting charging and battery-swapping infrastructure ahead of the launch, with the goal of making VinFast’s e-scooter ecosystem ready for customers from day one.
Entering the Philippines
VinFast is leaning heavily on ecosystem development - apps, charging stations, and service centers - something the company sees as a key differentiator in Southeast Asia’s increasingly crowded EV market. That strategy mirrors what VinFast has already built in Vietnam, where electric scooters have moved beyond niche adoption and into mainstream transportation. According to company figures, VinFast delivered more than 406,000 electric motorcycles in Vietnam in 2025, up 473% year on year , making it the country’s top electric two-wheeler brand. The company believes Filipino consumers may become increasingly open to electric mobility as fuel prices fluctuate and urban traffic congestion worsens.
Early impressions
Executives and dealers from across Southeast Asia who tested the scooters in Vietnam late last year repeatedly pointed to VinFast’s ecosystem strategy as one of the company’s strongest advantages, particularly at a time when many consumers in the region remain cautious about battery durability, charging access, and long term ownership support for electric two wheelers.
Filipino dealer executive, Jose Daniel “Jonel” Borromeo, whose Motor Ace Philippines group operates around 250 motorcycle stores nationwide, said VinFast’s ecosystem ambitions immediately stood out during the Vietnam visit.
“By building your whole ecosystem, you can control everything, which I think is a great example for any brand that wants to become a market leader,” he said. “If VinFast is looking at becoming a market leader, then definitely creating its own ecosystem would be a great approach, similar to what Steve Jobs did with Apple.”
VinFast’s ecosystem rollout is already beginning to take shape in the Philippines. In April, VinFast announced strategic cooperation agreements with 14 e-scooter distributors across the country as part of its nationwide retail and after-sales expansion plan. These include Wheeltek Motor Sales Corporation; Gentrade International Phils., Inc. (Transcycle); Superbikes Corporation; Motoxpress Sales Corporation; FMN Industrial Corp.; Eduhome Enterprise, Inc.; Keymotors Incorporated; Motorpro by Abenson Ventures Inc. and Aserco; Moto Atelier Inc.; Ciclo Suerte; HG Motorzone; HGC Main Marketing (Motorboy); BLC Cycle Parts Supply; and Auto Ten Trade & Services Corp.
What happens next?
For now, VinFast says its immediate priority is establishing a strong foundation in key urban areas before gradually expanding nationwide. More details regarding pricing, dealer rollout, financing programs, and introductory offers are expected closer to the official launch in July.
