Las Piñas residents turn dreams into thriving businesses through free food cart program
Several hardworking residents of Las Piñas have begun turning their entrepreneurial dreams into reality after receiving free food carts from the city government, officially launching their own small businesses.
The beneficiaries, who received their carts from Mayor April Aguilar on May 2, are part of the city’s livelihood assistance program aimed at helping families build sustainable sources of income.
Aguilar said that with the summer season in full swing, many of the recipients are now selling refreshing “samalamig” drinks and well-loved street food favorites, or “tusok-tusok,” in their communities—offering affordable snacks while generating steady earnings for their households.
Among the beneficiaries are Dolor Bantigue of Talon Uno, Rachel Rañon of Talon Singko, Veronica Suerte of Manuyo Dos, Sharon Otones of Daniel Fajardo, and Frilene Eusebio of Elias Aldana.
The city government emphasized that the initiative reflects Aguilar’s commitment to empowering residents through accessible livelihood opportunities, while encouraging aspiring entrepreneurs to build better futures through perseverance and hard work.
The mayor added that each food cart represents more than just immediate financial support—it serves as a symbol of hope, growth, and long-term progress for Las Piñero families.
